Join #TeamShine at the iconic TCS London Marathon in 2027!
Due to the very high volume of applications for our charity places we have now closed and will not be able to accept any further ones.
If you're successful in getting a ballot, good for age, disability or running club place though we'd love you to join #TeamShine!
Take part in this iconic marathon in a Shine running top and join the 100,000 or so runners on the streets of London over the weekend! You'll be helping us support members living with spina bifida, hydrocephalus, and related conditions, and their families.
Starting from Greenwich you'll run past many of London’s most famous landmarks before finishing on The Mall with Buckingham Palace as a backdrop.
Soak up the amazing atmosphere as you run, with thousands of people along the route cheering you on!
Whether this will be your first marathon or you’re an experienced runner, we’d love you to run for Shine!

As a member of #TeamShine at the Sunday London Marathon, you will receive:
- Shine running vest or top
- Access to fundraising resources, tips and advice
- Ongoing support from our dedicated Fundraising Team to help you smash your target
- On the day support from our cheer point on the course
- An invitation to our post-race reception, with showers, free massage and food available
- Shine thank you pack

Why not join #TeamShine at this historic weekend event? You'll be supported in the same way as our charity place participants, but won't be set a fundraising target - just raise as much as you can!

Accessibility
The TCS London Marathon welcomes people with disabilities, including wheelchair users.
If you require an assisted wheelchair place a separate assisted wheelchair ballot with a limited number of places will open in July. Assisted wheelchair places are only available to wheelchair users with a permanent disability who cannot complete the course without assistance.
Regarding assisted wheelchair places:
- Participants must be 18 or over on Marathon Day.
- Each participant may have up to four Support Runners, all aged 18 or over on Marathon Day.
- No more than two Support Runners may assist at any one time.
- Charity places cannot be used as assisted wheelchair places - you must apply through the assisted wheelchair ballot.
