Take part in this well known running event for Shine!
There's a choice of the Half Marathon or Anna’s Hope 5K Fun Run distance around Peterborough!
Organised by Good Running Events, the AEPG Great Eastern Run is a major event in the UK running calendar. With a start and finish at the Embankment, the event boasts a super-flat, fast route around the streets of Peterborough City Centre, including the grounds of the Cathedral.
The Half Marathon course is suitable for first timers or runners looking for a personal best alike. Click here for the route map and elevation (a total of 65 metres!).
The Great Eastern Run also incorporates the Annas Hope 5K Fun Run, which is open to the whole family, and participants can support their charity of choice. From serious athletes wanting a shorter race, to complete beginners wanting to have fun, get fit and raise money for a charity of their choice, all at the same time. Registration fee: Half Marathon: £40 and 5K Fun Run: £19, payable to the event organisers upon registration
Minimum sponsorship pledge: There's no minimum sponsorship - just raise as much as you can!
Please note that Shine does not have any charity places in the Great Eastern Half Marathon or the 5K Fun Run, so please sign up with the event organisers to secure your own place(s), and then let us know!
The minimum age for the Half Marathon is 17 on race day.
For the 5K Fun Run, children must be at least 4 years of age (all children aged 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult).
Sign up directly with the event organisers via their website for either the Half Marathon or the 5K Fun Run, and then let us know by completing this short form.

Please note that the Half Marathon has a cut-off time of 3hrs 30mins and the 5K has a 1hr cut-off.
