Enjoy the atmosphere of the Cardiff Half Marathon weekend!
The Cardiff Half weekend kicks off the running fever on Saturday morning with a full day of fun activities, entertainment and running for all ages and abilities with the Cardiff Half Junior!

Registration fee: £12 for the Fun Run & Future Challengers & £2 for the Toddler Dash - all payable directly to event organiser.
Minimum sponsorship pledge: There's no minimum sponsorship - raise whatever they can!

Please note that Shine does not have any charity places in the Cardiff Half Junior event - you'll need to sign up with the organisers to get places.
The event offers a no-pressure, family-focused 2.4k Fun Run, a 50m Toddler Dash for those taking their first steps into physical activity and a 1-mile Future Challengers race for talented young athletes and junior club runners looking for an accessible and competitive race.
Why not drag along the rest of your family and friends and enjoy the day? Expect a vibrant atmosphere and loads of support from the crowd.
Fun Run and Future Challengers race entry includes CHM Junior branded finishers' medals plus chip timing, so you can check your official time after the race.

Throughout the day, there will also be an exciting mix of come and try sports and family entertainment – so even those not taking part can get involved!
Accessibility
Pushchairs and wheelchairs are allowed. Although pushchairs are not permitted in the Future Challengers race, where participants must be aged 8 or over.
More information
There is no set age limit for the Fun Run. However, any runners aged 8 or under must be accompanied by an adult at all times during the race. Accompanying adults must purchase their own race entry.
Toddler Dash
Time: 10:30am
What’s involved: A fun 50m dash aimed at children aged three and under.
What’s included: An adorable mini Cardiff Half Marathon Junior race number to wear on the day and a commemorative finisher's sticker.
Future Challengers
Time: 11:00am (Boys U11/U13), 11:15am (Girls U11/U13), 11:30am (U15/U17s Mixed)
What’s involved: A 1-mile race for club athletes and competitive runners aged between 9 and 17 years looking to race.
What’s included: Chip timing and finisher’s medal. There will be awards for Under 11s, 13s, 15s and 17s*
Fun Run
Time: 11:45am
What’s involved: A fun 2.4K race for all the family, with no pressure on setting fast times or running all the way around. Accompanying adults welcome! (and required to run with all children under 8)
What’s included: Chip timing and finisher’s medal.
Accompanying adults: Adults who do not wish to receive a finisher's medal or official finish time may purchase a cheaper accompanying adult entry for £3. Simply select the number of accompanying adult bibs you would like when completing the child entry form.
