Why support Shine through a DAF
Donor Advised Fund (DAF)
Giving to Shine Through a Donor Advised Fund (DAF)
A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is a flexible and tax‑efficient way to make a meaningful difference to the lives of people living with spina bifida and hydrocephalus. If you already give through a DAF, recommending a grant to Shine is a powerful way to help us deliver life‑changing health advice, practical support, and community connection to thousands of people across the UK.
What is a Donor Advised Fund?
A Donor Advised Fund acts like a charitable giving account. You contribute to your fund when it suits you, receive immediate tax benefits, then recommend grants to charities like Shine over time.
DAFs offer all the advantages of a charitable foundation, without the administration, compliance responsibilities, or paperwork - your DAF provider handles these on your behalf. They are the UK’s fastest‑growing giving vehicle, valued for their tax‑efficiency, flexibility, and ease of use.
At Shine, we welcome gifts made via DAFs and recognise the benefits they can offer to us and to you.
How to Recommend a Grant to Shine
If you hold a DAF with providers such as CAF, NPT UK, Stewardship, or your local Community Foundation, you can recommend a grant to Shine using the following details:
Charity name: Shine
Registered charity number: 249338

Purpose of grant: Unrestricted or your preferred programme area – please take a look at our grants and philanthropy opportunities page, or get in touch to discuss your particular interests.
Please share our fundraising hub with your provider to support their due diligence processes.
DAFs offer the option to give anonymously. If you recommend a gift to Shine through your DAF, please consider letting us know so we can thank you personally and keep you updated on the impact of your support.
