Lauren and Bear's Story
Shine have supported us so much as a family over the last decade, and I really wanted to give back and support the charity by raising money for them.
My wonderful boss at The Guild of Letting & Management gave me the opportunity to host our work’s Charity Golf Day in aid of Shine, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the support.

When my son, Bear, was born and we discovered he has Lipomyelomeningocele (a congenital form of spina bifida), we were thrown into a world of unknowns. Shine have helped and guided us along the way, supporting them now was an easy choice.

Shine are always reaching out and checking in on my son. We were given a lot of support and knowledge regarding self-catheterisation, and Shine went above and beyond to support us in meetings while applying for his Education, Health and Care plan (EHCP). At Bear's check-up appointments, it's always so lovely to see a member of the Shine team there at the clinic, especially if we need some extra advice and to let us know about any upcoming Shine events.

I was completely overwhelmed by the support for our fundraising and so grateful to see everyone come together to raise money for such a wonderful charity that is so close to our hearts. One golf society were so touched by the work Shine do and my family’s story that they made Shine their charity of the year! They have been raising money at events, and I know one of their members signed up to do the Vitality London 10k too to raise money for Shine.
