An update on how we support our members

We want to share an update about a recent change to our services structure at Shine.

In the past, many of you have shared feedback with us about the importance of having clear, age‑appropriate support. We’ve listened carefully to what you’ve told us.

As a result, we are changing our Services structure into three dedicated teams:

  • A dedicated National Children, Young People and Families Team (under 25’s)
  • A dedicated National Adults’ team (over 25s)

And we will continue:

  • A dedicated National Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) Team

We will, of course, also provide support and information from our Specialist Health Team.

This change means that every age group we support now has a clearer focus, dedicated expertise, and a stronger long‑term strategy in place. It allows us to better understand the different needs of children, families, and adults and to shape our services around those needs.

While things may look a little different, one thing that hasn’t changed is our commitment to you. Our Services Team will still be here - ready to listen, support and help members where they can. Our aim is simply to strengthen what we do, not to reduce or replace it.

If you have any questions about this change or would like to know more, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us. We’re always happy to hear from you.

Best wishes,

Gill Valentine, Deputy CEO at Shine
