The Southern region covers the whole of the south of England, incorporating the midlands and extends from Derby and Nottinghamshire, through London, Kent and Essex down to Somerset, Devon and Cornwall.

If you:

  • Have spina bifida or hydrocephalus
  • Are pregnant and have had a recent diagnosis of spina bifida or anencephaly
  • Have a child with spina bifida or hydrocephalus
  • Live with or care for someone with these conditions
  • Are a professional providing support

We’re here to help. To access local services, get in touch by phone or email. We also attend clinics at the following hospitals in your area:

  • John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford
  • St George's Hospital, London
  • Birmingham Children's Hospital
  • Chelsea and Westminster Hospital

Shine's Specialist Services

We provide specialist support pre-birth and beyond for anyone living with spina bifida, hydrocephalus and associated conditions, as well as to parents, families, carers and professional health and social care staff.

We work on a national level to provide these services through the following specialist service teams:
